
Throughout the year the Dance Program may offer a variety of specialty workshops. These may be designated for level of ability such as Primary, Beginner, and Novice or Intermediate and Premier. The workshop topic could also be categorized by the material to be covered such as championship steps, national dances, or strength and conditioning for dancers.
We may also offer workshops in different types of dance, including Irish, Flamenco, Ballet and Modern.

Highland Dancing Program Guidelines
Subject Areas
Based on ability level, areas of interest and/or personal strengths and weaknesses, the following subject areas may be included:
- appropriate warm-up
- flexibility and strength
- traditional Highland dances
- national dances, jig, and hornpipe
- current championship steps
- practice techniques
- mental training and focus
- stage presence
- specialty exercises for improved technique
- choreography
- theory
What to Bring
Required: Highland ghillies, water bottle, practice sword, notebook and pencil
