Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Lindsay Munro has been a successful competitive Highland dancer since the age of six. Under the guidance of her long-time teacher, Gillian Macdonald, she has competed across Canada, the United States, Australia and in the Netherlands.
Over her career, Lindsay has been a guest performer at the Stone Mountain Highland Games in Atlanta, Georgia; the National Arts Centre in Ottawa; the televised Canada Day Celebrations on Parliament Hill in Ottawa and, most notably, at the prestigious Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland where she performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and H.R.H. Prince Philip.
In 2000, Lindsay Munro won the Central Canada Youth Talent Competition and went on to represent Ottawa at the National Finals in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Since 2001, Lindsay has placed in the top three at the Scotdance Canada Championships Series Choreography competition four times and was a silver medalist at the 2006 United States Inter-Regional Championships.
Munro has her Members teaching qualifications from the Scottish Dance Teachers' Alliance (STDA) and has taught dance workshops across Canada from Fort St. John, British Columbia to Summerside, Prince Edward Island. With her undergraduate degree in Sport Management from Brock University, Munro is currently completing her Master's Degree in Canadian Studies from Carleton University.
Lindsay is pleased to be the Highland dance teacher at The College of Piping and was a choreographer for The College's summer theatrical production of "Highland Storm: The Maiden from the Sea".
