This extensive program offers classes for dancers three years of age to teen and adult, from pre-school and beginner up to advanced levels. Competitive students are taught when dancers have the required repertoire and costuming.
Beginner to Premier
From five years of age and up, girls and boys enroll in Highland dance classes to learn the steps and technique that comprise traditional Highland dancing. Technique is taught according to the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing. Speciality classes are available in addition to the regular weekly lessons (i.e. muscle conditioning and stamina). Annual dance exams are offered through the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Dancers have the opportunity to perform in the annual year-end recital.
Experienced dancers may join The College of Piping Dance Company.
Hours of Instruction
From September to June, classes are offered from approximately 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm on weekdays. Saturday classes are offered, if the demand warrants. Class schedules are available by June 1 for September classes.
