Craig “Hoss” Colquhoun Craig "Hoss" Colquhoun’s eclectic musical interests led him at age 10 to the Kincardine (Ontario) Scottish Pipe Band. From there, Craig went on to play with Bruce County Pipe Band, MacNish Distillery, ScotsAire, Toronto Transit, and finally the 78th Fraser Highlanders.
While his education was in jazz performance and mechanical engineering, he spent the past 30 years playing in Pipe Bands. During this time he earned numerous Championships for Bass Drumming including three times Canadian, three times United States, five times North American, and an unprecedented three times World Champion.
All of these awards were accomplished using an instrument crafted by Craig himself. In a remarkably short period of time, the legendary Hosbilt drums, now produced by Premier Percussion, have forever changed the sound of the modern day Pipe Band.
Today, Craig is much sought after worldwide for instruction of Bass Drumming for Pipe Band workshops.
